Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Thursday 7 February 2013 are as follows:

Ross and Cromarty
West coast, 5cms of snow on the Fain and Bealach na Ba. Icy patches with a dusting of snow reported on many other west coast routes. Icy patches in the East mainly due to seepage. Continuing to treat by need and priority. Posted: 07/02/2013 09:32

Nairn
Roads wet/damp. Light grit to Priority 1, 2 and 3 routes. Posted: 07/02/2013 09:25

Caithness and North Sutherland
Generally dry but stretches of ice, frost and some light snow, throughout the area. Road surface temperatures near freezing and slowly rising. Treating as required by priority. Posted: 07/02/2013 08:39

South Sutherland and Easter Ross
Higher routes light dusting of snow. Lower routes widespread ice all routes being treated in priority order. Posted: 07/02/2013 08:36

Skye and Lochalshsh
Higher routes 1 to 2cm snow cover, all other routes widespread ice after late evening sleet and rain all routes being treated in order of priority. Posted: 07/02/2013 07:44

Badenoch and Strathspey 
South of area light dusting of snow. North of area mainly clear intermittent areas of ice/frost and slush, treating routes by priority. Posted: 07/02/2013 07:34

Lochaber / Inverness
No problems reported for Lochaber / Inverness. Treating as per policy.
