A9 Kessock Bridge – Introduction of the new Traffic Signals on the three approaches to the Longman Roundabout.

The new traffic lights on the three main approaches to the Longman Roundabout
were commissioned prior to evening peak on Wednesday 6 February 2013.

There have been Traffic Signal design engineers monitoring the performance of
the Traffic Signals since the commissioning process. This morning traffic
travelling onto the A9 north from the A82 (Longman Road) was moving freely and
queue lengths on the A9 southbound to Longman Roundabout were reduced.

However, there were significant queues on the A82 travelling on to the A9 south.

This is an initial bedding-in process and these engineers will remain on site today
and tomorrow morning making further fine adjustments as necessary. Engineers
will also be available on site next week as traffic flows and patterns are expected
to be significantly different from this week.

Motorists should allow extra time for their journeys and pay attention to any
advisory signs which will be in place throughout the works. For real time journey
