Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Friday 8 February 2013 are as follows:

Caithness and North Sutherland
Frost and icy patches on high routes, damp roads low ground, patrolled and treat as required on priority 1, 2 and 3 routes in North Sutherland and priority 1 and 2 routes in Caithness. Posted: 08/02/2013 09:00

South Sutherland and East Ross
Icy roads, with sparkle over whole area this morning all routes being treated in priority order. Posted: 08/02/2013 08:19

Nairn
Roads wet. Light grit to priority 1, 2 and 3 routes due to low road surface temperatures. Posted: 08/02/2013 08:11

Badenoch and Strathspey 
North of area ice patches and areas of slush. South area generally wet roads. Early morning drop in road surface temperatures precautionary treatment to all routes.

Inverness
Roads generally damp/wet no real problems. Sparkle and frost on higher levels West and South of Inverness. Treating high level priority 1 and 2 routes. Posted: 08/02/2013 07:48

Ross and Cromarty
Icy patches on highest routes in the west but generally wet with some sleet. Odd icy patches around the east especially where areas of seepage. Posted: 08/02/2013 07:41

Skye and Lochalsh
Some slush on higher routes otherwise no problems reported. Posted: 08/02/2013 07:13

Lochaber
No problems reported - treating as policy and priority.
