Highland Council winter road condition reports for 11 February 2013

Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Monday 11February 2013 are as follows:

Caithness and North Sutherland
Snow up to 25mm situated on high ground and inland routes.  Lower routes have damp surfaces with slushy patches and a dusting of snow in places. Roads are getting treated in priority order. Posted 11/02/2013 08:56:20

South Sutherland and East Ross
East coast routes are generally all clear.  All other roads are affected by ice with a covering of snow on high ground. All routes have been treated where necessary. Posted 11/02/2013 08:59:53

Nairn
There is a light dusting off snow to higher routes and untreated routes. Otherwise all other routes are damp and wet. Routes are being checked and treated by priority. Posted: 11/02/2013 07:13:55

Badenoch and Strathspey 
North area has a dusting of snow and frozen patches on untreated routes. Treated routes generally damp or dusting of snow. The A939 Brig Brown road has 2 to 4 centimetres of snow on it which is now drifting. Higher routes are affected by a light covering of snow. South area routes are generally damp and drying. Inverness

Ross and Cromarty
2 inches of snow over Knockan, frozen slush on Fain and small localised drifts on top of Beallach. A light covering on Glendocherty with icy patches on Letters – Logie route, otherwise the west areas are okay.  Throughout the east of the area there are localised icy patches, mainly on higher ground. Skye and Lochalsh

Lochaber
No problems reported - treating as policy and priority.
