Highland Council winter road condition reports for 14 February 2013

Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Thursday 14 February 2013 are as follows:

Caithness and North Sutherland
North Sutherland all clear. Caithness main routes clear with snow and slush on the  side roads. Inland of Latheron and Dunbeath there were a few drifts of snow blocking the road but these have now been cleared. Posted 14/02/2013 09:25:19

South Sutherland and East Ross
Some side roads on the east coast are affected by hard packed snow and ice including the B9176 Struie road.  Most other routes are all clear except the B871 which has some hard packed snow and ice. Posted 14/02/2013 08:45:09

Nairn.
Roads are wet and icy on higher routes. Our crew is gritting all higher routes

Badenoch and Strathspey 
There is ice and frozen slush in the north of the area with more patchy and localised snow in the south.  All routes are being gritted. Posted: 14/02/2013 08:55:01

Inverness
Roads are wet with some icy stretches on high roads.  These roads are all getting gritted. Posted 14/02/2013 07:16:28

Ross and Cromarty
No action required in the west as temperatures are higher. East routes have been checked and no problems reported with all roads clear by 0730.Posted 14/02/2013 07:51:16
