Councillors request Windfarm site visit
Today (Tuesday 19 February) The Highland Council’s South Planning Applications Committee voted to have a site visit before debating an application by Scottish & Southern Energy Renewables to erect 83 wind turbines near Fort Augustus.
The application seeks Section 36 consent from Scottish Ministers. The Scottish Government have consulted The Highland Council and the application was referred to the South Planning Applications Committee because more than 5 objections have been raised.
Councillors voted 9 to 7 to postpone making a decision as to whether they would go with officers recommendations and raise no objections until arrangements could be made for the committee to undertake a site visit.
