Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for the morning of Friday 18 January 2013 are as follows:

Mid and West Ross
Dry and cold in west of area. Routes patrolled and areas treated where required. Some light flurries of snow in east of area. All routes patrolled and treated where required. Posted: 18/01/2013 11:21

South Sutherland and East Ross 
Mainly dry roads but damp icy patches in places with light flurries of snow to the south of the area. All roads treated by priority. Posted: 18/01/2013 09:34

Caithness and North Sutherland
North Sutherland no problems reported. Caithness white frosts in sheltered areas on side roads main roads all clear. Occasional snow showers on east coast. Posted: 18/01/2013 08:45

Badenoch and Strathspey
2-3cm of fresh snow in the East of the area (Grantown  and Nethybridge) with some slight drifting on the A939 Bridgeof Brown road. West of the area (Carrbridge, Boat of Garten, Aviemore) stretches of snow 1-2cm. Routes being gritted by priority. South of the area unaffected so far - no action. Posted: 18/01/2013 08:44

Inverness
Light covering of snow on roads and snowing. All priority roads to be gritted. Posted: 18/01/2013 08:31

Lochaber
Most routes clear, only part treatment on some routes required where needed. Posted: 18/01/2013 08:30

Nairn
There has been a shower of snow giving a light covering. Salt on roads over the last few days has coped with it. Roads clear. Posted: 18/01/2013 08:22
