New senior teaching appointments
The Highland Council has made a number of appointments of senior teachers in the Inverness and Badenoch and Strathspey areas.
At Crown Primary School the new Head Teacher is Elspeth Mackenzie, the Depute Head Teacher at Milton of Leys Primary School, who replaces Linda Cowie who has retired.
At Inshes Primary School, Anneka Jansson takes over as head teacher from Richard Syred who has retired. Ms Jansson was most recently Acting Head Teacher of Kinmylies Primary School.
At Daviot Primary, Andrew MacCallum moves from an administrative post in Durham to replace Derek Martin who was recently appointed Head Teacher at Central Primary.
Wendy Mackay steps up from being Acting Head Teacher to Head Teacher at Bishop Eden’s Primary School.
Acting Head Teacher at Aviemore Primary School is Wendy Holton, currently Depute Head Teacher. This follows the retirement of Rona Smith.
Croy Primary School’s new head teacher is Iain Grandison who moves on from his teaching post at Daviot Primary.
Strathdearn Primary School also has a new head teacher. Lynda Banks, currently at Raigmore Primary, will take up her post in the new school session.
The new Acting Head Teacher at Drummond School, Inverness, is Clare Whiteford who is currently Depute Head Teacher. She takes over from Linda Schubert who has taken up a new post of Quality Improvement Officer with the Council.
Millburn Academy has a new Depute Head Teacher, Jonny Croal, who had been Acting Depute Head Teacher.
A new Depute Head Teacher has also been appointed at Culloden Academy where Tracey Lomas moves from her Guidance post at Kingussie High.
Appointments will be made later in the summer for the vacant posts of Head Teacher at Aviemore Primary School, Carrbridge Primary School and Kingussie High School.
