Lochaber Local Plan Consultation

Friday (9 June) brings to a close The Highland Council’s initial 10-week consultation period on the Lochaber Local Plan.

The newspaper Lochaber Futures - posted to all households and business addresses in the Local Plan area - has set out a vision for Lochaber to 2025, a strategy for development including up to 1,300 new homes and 1,100 additional jobs for the next decade as well as key development options for each of the main communities.

The Council welcomes the wide range of comments received to date from local people, community groups, agencies with an interest, land owners and developers.
and wishes to take account of all views before deciding whether “focus groups” might help further discussions.

The Council intends to publish the new Local Plan early in 2007.
