Council Leader holds constructive talks with easyJet on Inverness-Gatwick route

The Highland Council Leader Councillor Drew Hendry met with Hugh Aitken, easyJet’s Head of Scotland today (Tuesday) to discuss the potential acquisition by easyJet of the Flybe slots from Inverness to Gatwick.

A wide-ranging and positive discussion took place regarding the business opportunities in Inverness and wider Highlands and Islands, including the energy sector, life sciences, business services, the University of the Highlands and Islands, whisky and tourism.

Councillor Hendry said; “The Highland Council recognises the importance of the route  and easyJet's current commitment. The Council will work closely with easyJet over the months on this issue. It is important that we stress that this is a region which is open for business and one which is ready to work with easyJet.”
