Council sponsors conference on land reform

The Highland Council is sponsoring the Community Land Scotland Conference to be held at Sabhal Mor Ostaig, Sleat, Skye, on Friday and Saturday (7 and 8 June).

The keynote conference address will be delivered by the First Minister Alex Salmond, MSP.

Delegates attending the conference will be invited to contribute to a series of themed workshops and will also be able to visit successful community enterprises at nearby Sleat and Tormore.

Councillor George Farlow, who leads on land reform for the Council, said: “This is a great opportunity for those interested in land reform and the expansion of the community owned assets to share experience and to learn from those already running successful community enterprises. The Highland Council is very happy to be sponsoring this event and hopes that it will encourage and support those communities considering the acquisition of assets.”
