Council commits to clearer communications.
The Highland Council has taken corporate membership of the Plain English Campaign to demonstrate its commitment to clearer communications.
The Plain English Campaign has been helping councils and businesses to improve the clarity of communications for more than 30 years by editing documents and providing training.
The Crystal Mark is the campaign’s seal of approval for the clarity of a document.
Priority for a Crystal Mark will be given to documents, such as:
Training will be focused on those members of staff who write reports for council meetings and provide advice and information to the public.
