Successful litter pick by Pennyland pupils
Pupils from Pennyland Primary in Thurso, took part in a Litter Day of Action last week by carrying out a litter pick in the grounds of their school. Pupils from P2, plus the eco-committee, were assisted by class teacher Hazel Gunn, teaching assistant Carole Fotheringham and Andrea Wotherspoon, Waste Management Assistant for The Highland Council.
Andrea said: “Just over three full black bags of litter were collected during the pick. It was amazing how much litter was found along the boundary fences and in the bushes. All the children were really enthusiastic and worked hard, which really paid off as it left the playground looking a lot tidier.”
