Glen Nevis Visitor Centre 20th Anniversary Open Day, 25 June 2013

The Glen Nevis Visitor Centre will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next Tuesday (25th June) with an open day featuring activities from the Highland Council Rangers, Mountain Rescue, and the Forestry Commission.

Since 1993, Glen Nevis Visitor Centre has provided help and advice to the thousands of walkers exploring Glen Nevis and climbing Ben Nevis every year. The open day will celebrate this work, and highlight how much more there is to Glen Nevis than only climbing the Ben.

Refreshments and presentations, including from the Provost of Lochaber, will start at 12pm next Tuesday, but people are welcome all day.

Operated by the Highland Council, the Centre offers car parking, toilets and picnic sites to those exploring Glen Nevis. Staff are also available to give walking advice and information on the local area, and the Centre sells items such as maps, snacks and souvenirs.

The Centre is situated 1.5 miles along the Glen Nevis road from the Nevis bridge mini-roundabout. The Visitor Centre is open all year, 7 days a week, and opening hours vary with season.
