Guided walk to test your natural navigation skills

The Highland Council’s Countryside Rangers will be leading a guide walk to test peoples sense of direction in Beachen woods, Grantown-on-Spey on Wednesday 3 July.  Anyone coming along will be able to see if they can find their way through the woods using only their senses and the wild world around them.

Can you tell which way is south, are you right? Why not take part in this different guided walk and see just how good your natural navigation instincts are with help from the Rangers and the natural environment.

The walk, from 2pm – 4pm, costs £5 adults and £3 for children and concessions. Anyone coming should ensure that they wear sturdy boots and bring with them waterproofs and a snack. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The parking and meeting up point is Grantown-on-Spey Caravan Park on Seafield Road.  To book a place please phone the rangers on 01479 873 914.

The Countryside Rangers run many events and guided walks which aim to help raise awareness and encourage appreciation of the scenery, wildlife and heritage of the Highlands. A programme of Ranger Guided Walks and Events is on the council’s website at: http://www.highland.gov.uk/countrysiderangerevents.htm
