Leader of The Highland Council, Councillor Drew Hendry wished all the competitors the best of luck in the quiz. He said: “Raising awareness and knowledge of Europe and how its influence impacts upon Scotland is increasingly important. We cannot underestimate the impact that Europe has on our everyday lives and on our children’s futures. We are currently in negotiations for millions of pounds in EU spending for the Highlands and as decision makers of the future, our children will need to be as prepared as possible to take advantage of the opportunities that exist with engagement in Europe.”
Fifteen schools took part in the Highland heat in Inverness including: Ardersier, Balloch, Banavie, Cawdor, Cradlehall, Craighill, Drakies, Dornoch, Farr, Knockbreck (Tain), Lochardil, North Kessock, Park (Invergordon), Rosebank (Nairn), and South Lodge (Invergordon) Primaries.
