Wacky Woolly Wednesday
Leader of The Highland Council, Councillor Drew Hendry marked Wacky Woolly Wednesday today (6 March 2013) by congratulating poster competition design winner Maria Vivera of St Joseph’s Primary School, Inverness.
Councillor Hendry donned a wacky woolly and joined Maria and other pupils – Abigail Morris, Lauren Murray, Aine Teago Meenaghan and Rachel Murray as they sported their colourful cosy jerseys.
The jumpers were needed today in schools and offices where the temperature was turned down by 1 degree to reduce the Council’s carbon footprint. Schools and offices are were also urged to turn off electrical equipment not in use.
The initiative is being promoted by The Highland Council’s Energy and Sustainability Team to mark Climate Week 4-10 March.
