Appeal for dancers for opening ceremony mass Highland fling

The City of Inverness Highland Games Committee has issued an appeal for Highland Dancers to take part in the annual Mass Highland Fling at next month’s Masters World Championships.

Last year, 100 dancers took part in the event. This year 200 hundred competitive and non-competitive Highland Dancers are being sought to take part in the dance which will be the climax of the spectacular opening ceremony planned for the Masters World Championships which will take place at Bught Park on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 22-23 July.

The Mass Highland Fling raises money for the North of Scotland Highland Dancing Championships, which are held in Inverness each October and attract competitors from all across the Highlands.

Anyone interested in taking part in the Mass Highland Fling is asked to telephone the Games Highland Dancing Organiser Mrs Elizabeth Fraser of the Fraser School of Dancing on 01463 729477.
