This year’s Plockton Music School S6 tour will see the students cross the width of Scotland, with appearances at Achiltibuie, Kinloss, Aberdeen and Dundee.
The tour runs from Monday 25th to Thursday 28th March, and the venues are Coigach Hall, Achiltibuie on the 25th, East Grange Loft, Kinloss, on the 26th, Harlaw Academy, Aberdeen, on the 27th and The Gardyne Theatre, Dundee on the 28th. There will also be a number of schools workshops in the daytime.
These tours are always a highlight of the session, and give's the school a great opportunity to get out and share their music, not only with the audiences, but also with the many young musicians they meet at workshops or who provide support at the gigs.
At Aberdeen, the students will be joined by three bands from the vibrant Scottish Culture And Tradition (SCaT) - "Off to Fest i Ribe", "Young SC&T", and "North East Folk Collective."
In Dundee, the Tayside Young Fiddlers and Dundee Gaelic Choir will join in. The proceeds of the Dundee concert are being shared between Friends Of Plockton Music School, the Centre’s supporting Charitable Trust, and the Marra family’s El Sistema appeal, in memory of the late Michael Marra.
