Mid-summer hills alive with the sound of music
Highland Council’s Great Glen Way Rangers, Inverness Traditional Music Project and Forestry Commission Scotland Rangers will celebrate Mid-summer this week with a guided walk and hilltop concert.
The walk will start at Invermoriston, 7-30pm on Wednesday 21st June and will culminate at 1pm with a concert at the summit of Sron na Muic. Walkers are invited to bring their instrument and join in the hill-top ceilidh.
Hot drinks will be supplied at the top of the hill and four-wheel-drive transport will be provided for instruments that require to be transported and anyone requiring transport.
As places are limited, booking is recommended by contacting Great Glen Way Route Manager, Lynda Dodd on 01320 366 633. The walk is suitable for anyone over 16 years of age.
Lynda Dodd said: “With the beautiful daylight that we get here in the north this will be a memorable event. I would recommend leaving your i-pod at home and join us to celebrate the magic of Mid-summer on top of Sron na Muic with live traditional music.”
