Highland Council continues to serve red meat on school menus

The Highland Council has confirmed that it is not cutting red meat from school menus throughout the Highlands.

Highland Council’s Director of Education, Culture and Sport Service, High Fraser said: “Contrary to recent reports in the media we are not reducing the amount of red meat served up in our school meals at this time.

“Our schools meals are planned in accordance with national guidance on nutritional content, portion control and sourced from the best quality suppliers. Any changes to future school menus would be made in compliance with national guidelines.”
