New head teacher appointed at Invergordon Academy
The new head teacher of the 400-pupil Invergordon Academy is Ms Alison Drew, the acting head teacher.
Ms Drew was appointed by The Highland Council following interviews recently.
From Dunfermline, Ms Drew went to university in Dundee, where she spent the early years of her career teaching social subjects before becoming principal teacher of modern studies.
She moved to the Highlands in 2005 as a teacher of history and modern studies and then acting principal teacher of guidance at Inverness Royal Academy.
In 2007, she was appointed depute head teacher at Invergordon Academy.
Ms Drew said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this new job. I really enjoy working with the school community. It is such a good school and my aim is to ensure that we maintain the high standards of learning here.”
