Highland Road Safety Group marks Road Safety Week with seminar
A seminar organised by The Highland Council and Highland Road Safety Group(HRSG) partners has been planned as part of Road Safety Week which takes place from 18 - 24 November 2013.
Aimed at Highland Councillors and Community Council members, the seminar which takes place on 22 November will be held in the council’s headquarters at Glenurquhart Road Inverness.

Councillor Graham Phillips, Chairman of The Highland Council’s Transport, Environmental and Community Service Committee welcomed the partnership working of the Highland Road Safety Group, he said: “Members and community councillors are looking forward to hearing how the Highland Road Safety Group is directing resources to meet Highland’s commitment to the Scottish Government’s ‘Scotland’s Road Safety Framework 2020’ and to The Highland Council’s Single Outcome Agreement.”
The Single Outcome Agreement includes commitments to improve road safety; reduce road traffic accidents; and reduce community concerns about speeding in Highland (including targeted action for young drivers, motor cyclists and accident hotspots).
Chief Superintendent Julian Innes, Police Scotland, Divisional Commander, Highland and Islands said: “Road safety is one of the top priorities for Police Scotland and within the Highland and Island Division we are working to improve on safety of our roads through increased resources in this area and engagement with our communities with our partners.”
