Sleat Primary Open Day
A Gaelic Open Day was held in Sleat Primary School which was well attended by parents and children from the area.
Parents had the opportunity to view resources produced by organisations including the Highland Council, Storlann, Clì Gàidhlig and Fèisean nan Gàidheal. Representatives from Sleat Primary and Gaelic agencies were present at the event to give advice to parents on Gaelic Medium Education.
Children participated in many fun activities including interactive games, face painting, and a bouncy castle, refreshments and home-baking were also available.
Mrs Gwen Culbertson, Head Teacher said, “The day was very successful, and well attended by parents and members of the extended community. I would to take this opportunity to thank all the Gaelic organisations who attended the event and we hope to hold a similar event next year”.
Councillor Hamish Fraser, Chair Gaelic Implementation Group said, “The Open Days provide an excellent opportunity for parents to seek further information on Gaelic Medium Education, see all the attractive resources, and find out the opportunities and benefits of bilingualism.”
