Do you know where your contractor’s waste has gone?

Members of the public who engage contractors to carry out driveway, garden, or house improvements should ensure that the contractor will dispose of their waste in a lawful and safe way and not fly-tip it to save money.

The Highland Council’s waste management team is concerned at recent incidents in Inverness of fly-tipping of considerable amounts of waste from driveways and paths.

The Council points out that this harms the environment and costs time and council tax payers’ money to clear-up.

They urge that if members of the public are suspicious of a contractor or see fly tipping they should report the matter immediately to the Council by phoning 01349 886606.
