Highland Council winter road condition reports for Monday, 13 January 2014

The Highland Council’s snow clearing / gritting route policies and area maps are online for 2013/14 at www.highland.gov.uk

The MET Office has issued a national yellow 'be aware' severe weather warning for ice. More information is on their website.

Road condition and gritting treatment reports by The Highland Council’s, Transport, Environmental and Community Services for 13 January 2014 are as follows:

Caithness and North Sutherland
Main routes damp with a touch of frost on side roads, primary and secondary routes  treated. Posted: 13/01/2014 09:17

South Sutherland and East Ross South
All roads affected by hoar frost and patchy ice. All routes treated. Posted: 13/01/2014 09:05

Skye and Lochalsh
Patrolled primary routes - all clear. Posted: 13/01/2014 08:38

Ross and Cromarty
Roads in the west from west of Achanault generally good condition, temperatures rising. East roads - grey frost and icy stretches. Some very slippery sections. Gritting by priority. Posted: 13/01/2014 08:04

Lochaber
No treatment required on Carnoch - Lochaline Road dry. Posted: 13/01/2014 07:54.

Badenoch and Strathspey 
Roads damp with ice patches throughout area. Routes treated by priority as required. Posted: 13/01/2014 07:31

Nairn
Sparkle on some areas routes being checked by priority and treated as required. Posted: 13/01/2014 06:35

Inverness
Grey frost on roads, gritters on priority routes. Posted: 13/01/2014 06:14
