Tain school consultation
A consultation has begun to find a site for the proposed new 3 – 18 school campus in Tain which will replace the existing Tain Royal Academy, Craighill and Knockbreck Primaries and St Duthus Special School.
The three options under consideration are: the existing Tain Royal Academy site, the existing Craighill Primary School campus and a site at Kirksheaf.
Details of each of these site options are available on The Highland Council’s website at: www.highland.gov.uk/tainschool.
The Council is now consulting with those affected by the decision to amalgamate the schools on the best site for the new school building and the public are invited to provide comments on the three site options.
The consultation continues until 4 July 2104. In addition there will be a public drop-in session in Tain to take place on Monday 30 June at 10.00 am – 8.00 pm in Tain Parish Church Hall, Queens Street, Tain.
A report on the outcomes of the community engagement will be presented to the Council’s Education, Children and Adult Services Committee in August 2014. A decision on the timing of a statutory consultation on proposals relating to changes in education provision will be made by the Council over the coming months.
