New head teacher appointments.
The Highland Council has recently appointed four new head teachers at Highland Primary schools.
Audrey Kellacher has twelve years of teaching experience and moves to Lochardil Primary from Crown Primary, Inverness, where she has spent the past seven years as both principal teacher and latterly depute head teacher at the school. Mrs Kellacher is from Inverness and is a former Hilton Primary and Inverness Royal Academy pupil,
She said: “I am very much looking forward to taking up the position of head teacher at Lochardil Primary School in August, and I am excited I will be part of the school’s 50th Birthday celebrations. This is a fabulous occasion, particularly unique as it occurs within the ‘Year of Homecoming 2014’ and I can’t wait to be part of it all with the pupils, staff, parents and community during my first few weeks in post.
She added: “I am very impressed by Lochardil Primary School’s existing aims, ethos and work ethic, and I am delighted be joining the team and Associated Schools Group for the Inverness Royal Academy cluster.
Audrey Kellacher will take up her new post next session following the retirement of current Head Teacher Lynne Caddell.
Wendy Holton has also been appointed as head teacher at Aviemore Primary School. Wendy has been acting head teacher at the school since August 2013 following the retirement of Rona Smith and began her substantive post on 30 May. She said: “I am delighted to have been appointed. I am looking forward to developing our community school and working hard to improve learning and lives at Aviemore Primary.”
Two other acting head teachers have also been appointed as head teachers. Amanda Graham was appointed as head teacher at Cannich Bridge Primary School on 6 June. She said: “I am absolutely delighted to be made permanent head teacher and to continue to work with such a friendly and supportive set of staff, pupils, parents and community. I am looking forward to working together to improve children’s experiences and learning. Cannich Bridge Primary is a wonderful school and I am proud to be a part of it.”
Faye Lingard was appointed as Head Teacher at Ardersier Primary School on 12 June. She said: “I have really enjoyed being Acting Head at Ardersier Primary School over the past 18 months. I am delighted to have been appointed as Head Teacher and will continue to work closely with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community on a shared vision for the future.”
