Council Leaders praise Inverness Caledonian Thistle for cup final effort

Inverness lost to Aberdeen in a thrilling final of the Scottish Communities League Cup at Celtic Park, Glasgow.

Council Leader Drew Hendry said: “Inverness Caledonian Thistle have done Inverness and the Highlands proud by reaching the final.  They have put the club on the footballing map. Particularly pleasing was the large turn out of young supporters and hopefully the legacy of reaching the final will be increased participation in the game.”

Inverness Provost Alex Graham said: “It is a real pity that we fell at the final hurdle but the  Council will wish to mark their achievement in reaching their first major final with a civic reception.”
