New recycling bins at Wick School
Last year the Council, pupils, staff, community volunteers and local businesses took part in a week-long anti-litter campaign which saw nearly 21kg of waste collected over the week, of which 7kg was recyclable including 103 plastic bottles and 103 drink cans. This work resulted in the school being awarded £750 for eco-projects.
Since this campaign last February, there has been a big drop in the amount of litter discarded on the ground in and around the school. The new bins will make it easier for the young people to recycle more of their waste while out and about.
