Boys united as they sing
This was for for a special singing session accompanied by musicians from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO).
The “Boys United” event was a collaboration between the RSNO and The Highland Council and gave all the boys taking part the experience of singing with a live orchestra. Leading them in the day long workshop was Christopher Bell from the National Youth Choir of Scotland and the RSNO Junior Chorus.
The Highland Council’s Music Co-cordinator, Norman Bolton said: “We were really pleased with the response from the schools and the boys that came along really seemed to enjoy the chance to be tutored by Christopher then to sing en-mass. When the musicians came onto the stage to accompany the young singers, it really sounded terrific."
The schools taking part in the Boys United event were Dornoch Primary, Craighill Primary in Tain, Cromarty Primary, Grantown Primary and the Inverness primary schools of Muirtown, Cauldeen, Bishop Eden, Holm, Crown and St Josephs.
Norman added: “The event was part of a week-long partnership between the RSNO and the Council and we want to thank all the people involved from the RSNO and our schools for making it such a success.”
