Temporary closure of Badenoch & Strathspey Recycling Centre

The Highland Council is advising people that the Recycling Centre in Kingussie will be temporarily closed on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 October due to essential maintenance work to a nearby level crossing that Network Rail will be carrying out.  

From 9.30pm on Friday (3 October) until 7am on Monday (6 October) maintenance work will be underway to the Ruthven Road Kingussie Level Crossing which will require the closure of part of the B970 Kingussie – Speybridge Road.   

The area affected is the B970 at its junction with the C1141 Duke Street – Spey Street and its junction with the U2686 Market Lane. The Council has erected signs to let visitors to the Recycling Centre know about the temporary closure and is highlighting to people that the nearest alternative site is the Aviemore Recycling Centre which will be open on Saturday 4 October from 9am-4pm.
