Works get underway on A890 Stromeferry Bypass
A contractor has now been appointed to undertake slope stabilisation works on the A890 Stromeferry Bypass. Rope Access Scotland Ltd will carry out work to stabilise the slope which suffered from a landslip two weeks ago (Tuesday 28th October 2014). The work got underway on Monday 10th November and will take approximately 3-4 weeks to complete.
During the period of the works, drivers should expect delays on the affected section of road (A890 between Ardnarff and Attadale). As a precaution, it is currently planned that the road will remain closed overnight between 7.00pm and 7.00am until stabilisation works are complete.
The diversion route whilst the road is closed overnight is A890 Strathcarron to Achnasheen; A832 Achnasheen to Garve; A835 Garve to Tore Roundabout; A9 Tore to Inverness; A82 Inverness to Invermoriston; A887 / A87 Invermoriston to Auchtertyre and vice versa with a total diversion 133 miles.
