Chair congratulates Linda on her success
Linda Johnstone, The Highland Council’s ICT Service Delivery Manager has been awarded the CIPFA Certificate in Contract Management by the Institute of Administrative Management,
Linda, who has been with the Council for over 8 years and in her current post for 5, is responsible for the management of all of the Council’s ICT service delivery, ICT infrastructure and delivery of outsourced contracts to ensure operational ICT effectiveness.
Over the past five years there has been a growth in partnership arrangements between public bodies, private and third sector organisations. This has been heightened by the current public spending environment which has resulted in greater collaboration.
This unique qualification, which Linda received a distinction in, provided knowledge of contemporary contract management theory and good practice. It also developed the necessary knowledge, understanding, and practical skills necessary for those charged with managing contracts effectively.
Chair of The Council’s Resources Committee, Councillor Maxine Smith congratulated Linda. She said: “I am extremely proud of Linda’s achievements and it shows what can be done if you put your mind to it. To receive a distinction highlights the amount of hard work and commitment Linda has put in. This success benefits not only her, but also the whole ICT Services team who will benefit from her knowledge and skills. She is an exemplar for other Council employees.”
Linda said: “I am so grateful that the Council has given me the opportunity to do this course and thank my management for investing and believing in me. The knowledge gained is put into practice already and I am so proud of this achievement!”
