New Christmas Lights brighten up the High Street in Invergordon
Invergordon is enjoying a full display of new Christmas lights for the whole High Street this year, thanks to completion of the project to replace the of old lights which began in 2011.
A major funding package enabled the replacement of the old lights for about 3/4 of the High Street in 2011. The new ones are very modern and run off low power LED bulbs so are much more energy efficient.
This first phase cost over £25k with contributions from Global Energy (£10k), The Common Good (£6k) and the Ward Discretionary Budget (£1.9k) along with Community Council resources and a small donation from Skrettings.
This year, the project has been completed for the remaining section of the High Street and enhanced, with funding from Global Energy (£5k) and the Ward Discretionary Budget (£2245).
