The Highland Council have announced that an estimated crowd of just over 10,000 attended The Red Hot Highland Fling in Northern Meeting Park Arena in Inverness.

Hosted by Comedian Craig Hill, the free five hour Inverness Common Good Fund sponsored Hogmanay celebrations in Inverness attracted visitors from all over the Highlands as well as from Norway, France, China and the USA. The event has been widely praised on social media and was staged without incident with the members of the crowd playing their part in ensuring that a good time was had by all.

Councillor Glynis Sinclair, Chair of the Inverness Events and Festivals Working Group said: “This year’s Red Hot Highland Fling was fantastic and the crowd had a great time dancing to Julie Fowlis, Manran and The Red Hot Chilli Pipers. The show provided a wonderful climax to our 2014 Events and Festivals programme.”
