Mallaig Primary School to re-open

The Highland Council hopes to re-open Mallaig Primary school on Monday 12 January 2015 following works to a chimney on the school building.

The school was closed on Friday 19 December 2014 - which was the last day of term before the holidays - for the health and safety of pupils and staff.

Due to unsuitable weather conditions it has been challenging to get scaffolding in place to assess and complete works on the chimney in time for the start of school term. The works being carried out involve reducing the size of the chimney to make it safe.
