New Rector for Dornoch Academy
The new Rector at Dornoch Academy is Miss Tina Stones, who was appointed on Thursday 5 February at the 258 pupil school.
Miss Stones has been Acting Rector at Dornoch Academy since October 2014, prior to which she was Depute Head Teacher at Culloden Academy, in Inverness since 2005, when she moved to The Highland Council area.
Before moving to the Highlands, Miss Stones taught in schools in England and Japan.
She said: “I am absolutely delighted to take up the Rector’s post at Dornoch Academy, having thoroughly enjoyed my period as Acting Rector. I look forward to continue working with the Parent Council, pupils, staff and wider community for many years to come.
Chair of the Dornoch Academy Parent Council, Dr Neil Simco, said: “I am very pleased indeed that Tina Stones has been appointed to the post of Rector at Dornoch Academy on a permanent basis. She will bring energy, enthusiasm, expertise, experience and commitment to the post and is very well placed to build on all that her predecessor, John Garvie, achieved. I look forward to working with her closely in the years to come.”
