£115,000 resurfacing works on A835 at Lael Forest

Press release issued by BEAR Scotland

Motorists using the A835 approximately 3km west of the Braemore Junction at Lael Forest will soon benefit from an improved road surface following resurfacing works that start next week.

Transport Scotland is investing £115,000 to improve the 1km section of the A835 starting on Monday 23rd February and likely to take up to one week to complete.

The works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day from Monday to Friday.

Due to the restricted width of the carriageway on this section of the A835 and to ensure the safety of road users and road workers, temporary traffic lights and a 10mph convoy system will be in operation while works are undertaken.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours to keep disruption to a minimum, although a speed restriction of 30mph will remain in place as traffic will be running on a temporary surface.

Eddie Ross, Operating Company Representative for the North West Unit, said: “These essential works will improve the existing road surface, benefiting road users for years to come.

“Some delays are inevitable and we would therefore encourage motorists to plan their journey ahead, where possible.”
