Appointment of Commercial Manager post agreed

The Highland Council is to appoint a new post of Commercial Manager to drive forward the initiative to increase the generation of income.

Further identification of opportunities for income would help the Council to reduce the need to depend on finding budget savings.

The post is to be a 2 year fixed term post with a target of generating additional income of £323,400.

Chair of Resources Committee Cllr Maxine Smith said: “A number of other local authorities are also taking this approach to exploit commercial opportunities and this is an excellent opportunity for us to explore the benefits such a post can bring.”
