Road Closures During Christmas Lights Switch On

The annual Christmas Light switch on ceremony at Inverness takes place on Thursday 23 November so drivers are advised that a number of roads in the city centre will be closed to all traffic from 6.15 pm – 7.45 pm.

The roads affected are:-

• Bridge Street at its junction with Castle Road to its junction with the High Street;
• The High Street at its junctions with Bridge Street and Castle Street;
• Castle Street at its unction with the High Street to its junction with View Place;
• Castle Wynd closed at its junction with Bridge Street to its end.

The current restrictions to Academy Street will remain in place during the event.

Alternative routes will be available using Culduthel Road, Old Edinburgh Road, View Place, Haugh Road, Castle Road, Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens.
