Work Starts on Waste Transfer Station at Portree

Work has begun on the construction of a waste transfer station at Portree Landfill Site to ensure the continuation of the waste disposal provision in Skye and Lochalsh beyond 31 March next year.
 
The works are being carried out for The Highland Council by Muir of Ord based firm, Les Taylor Construction Northern Ltd.
 
Site works commenced on 13th November and are programmed to be complete by the beginning of March 2007.
 
The total cost of the works is approximately £600,000.
