Head teacher appointments

Highland Council has announced the appointment of five Head Teachers at primary schools in the Inverness, and Badenoch and Strathspey areas.

Janice MacRae has been appointed as Head Teacher at Balnain Primary School, Glen Urquhart, Drumnadrochit. Janice is currently Acting Head Teacher for Keills Primary and Small Isles Primary schools in Argyle and Bute. She will take up her new post in August.

Rhona MacCormick has been appointed with immediate effect as Head Teacher at Dalneigh Primary School, Inverness where she is currently Acting Head Teacher.  Rhona was previously Depute Head Teacher at Central Primary School.

The new Head Teacher at Kingussie Primary School is Alda Munro with immediate effect. Alda was previously Head Teacher at Gergask Primary. In the short term, Alda will act as cluster head until the summer when the position will be reviewed.

Rita McDaid has been appointed as the new Head Teacher at Muirtown Primary School in Inverness. She takes up her new post at Muirtown Primary in August. Rita is currently Head Teacher at Ben Wyvis Primary.

Duncan Forbes Primary School at Culloden, Inverness will have a new Head Teacher, Wendy MacKay, who starts in August. Wendy is currently Head Teacher at Bishop Eden Primary School in Inverness.

The Head Teachers’ posts at Ben Wyvis Primary and Bishop Eden Primary will be advertised in due course.
