Clava Cairns Up Close
The
Highland Council Countryside Rangers and Inverness Museum and Art Gallery are
preparing to invite you back in time to join them at the ancient and mysterious
Clava Cairns.
Next Tuesday (20 October) people can take part in an afternoon filled with hands-on
activities and enjoy the chance to explore the site and discover more
about what it was used for.
John Orr who is the Highland Council Countryside Ranger for the area said: “This is a bigger and even better version of the event we have been running here for a good 10 years now. Clava Cairns is such a unique and awe-inspiring place and we’re going back in time to explore it. Join us for a variety of activities including making bronze-age pots, decorating jewellery, looking at some actual relics from back then and you can even try and navigate your way around the cairns with our secret map. We are really looking forward to working with Inverness Museum & Art Gallery at this event too.”
The event takes place next Tuesday from 2 - 4pm. Places are limited and must be booked in advance by telephoning 01463 255291 or e-mailing rangers.inverness@highland.gov.uk. The exact meeting place will be given out on booking.
This event costs £4 adults, £3 concessions. Family tickets are available, costing £11.
