Council welcomes new international service with KLM
The Highland Council has welcomed today’s
announcement of an additional daily link with Schiphol Airport from Inverness,
starting in May next year.
Chair of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Committee, Cllr Audrey
Sinclair welcomed the news saying: “This is excellent news. The new service
will greatly enhance our connectivity in the Highlands with better access to
important international hubs. It builds on the good news of the new Heathrow
link starting in May. These links could significantly boost our economy in the
Highlands and help us attract more people to do business here.”
Leader of the Council, Cllr Margaret Davidson added: “This is more good news
for our whole region. The Highlands are already a popular tourist destination
and better international links with Inverness Airport can help us maximise this
potential right across the region.”
