Next meeting of Inverness East District Partnership
The next meeting of the Inverness East District Partnership will be on Wednesday 16 December in Raigmore Community Centre, Inverness.
Highland Councillor Ken Gowans is chairing the meeting; Councillor Gowans commented: “I would encourage any local voluntary groups or individuals who have an interest in health or social care to come along and participate. The District Partnership brings together a wide range of stakeholders from the public and third sectors to enable better and more appropriate delivery of services for children and adults that are so important to local communities."
A key speaker at the Meeting is Alan Grant, Home Energy and Partnership Liaison Officer with Home Energy Scotland. Mr Grant’s presentation will highlight the extent of fuel poverty in the area and its impact on health and well-being. The emphasis will be on the assistance that is available for those householders who are suffering from fuel poverty.
NHS Highland Board Member Mike Evans commented; “Fuel poverty is a serious issue and I’m looking forward to hearing what can be done to help people whose lives are affected by it.”
Partners will get an update from Jay Muirhead, Chief Development Officer of Signpost Highland, about progress being made to create a Networking Group the Hilton area of Inverness.
Councillor Gowans added; “This is a very positive initiative involving local volunteers from the community and I’m really keen to learn what progress is being made."
The meeting starts at 10 am.
