Easter Ross village to benefit from improved bus service

Following negotiations with The Highland Council, Stagecoach have agreed to add two additional return daytime services between Dingwall and Evanton, with one of these extending to and from Alness.

Evanton based Councillor Mike Finlayson had joined the community in raising concerns about the recent reduction of bus services to and from the village.

He said: “There was great disappointment locally about the reduction of buses travelling between Alness, Evanton and Dingwall. People raised a number of issues including difficulty in keeping appointments and parents in particular had raised concerns about their children coming back and forth from school in Dingwall.  We are now in the happy position of announcing these additional daytime services. I would like to thank the community for raising their concerns and thank Stagecoach and council officials for getting together and coming up with a proposal which should make a big difference for anyone in the area travelling by bus.”

The morning return is in place now; the afternoon one will start in the New Year. The latest timetable information can be found by visiting www.stagecoachbus.com/timetables
