Gaelic Fun in Tain
A very successful Gaelic Fun and Information Day organised by The Highland Councils Gaelic Team in partnership with Comann nam Pàrant took place in Tain Parish Church Centre last Saturday (6 February 2016).
The event, which was well attended, had a wide representation of ages present which included children, parents and adults attending the local Craic’s Comhradh group and those attending Gaelic language classes.
A group of young people from Tain Royal Academy provided musical entertainment and a group from Craigbank Primary Gaelic department sang a few songs. The Fun Day also included a Book-bug session held by local author Ceitidh Hutton and some Lycra games with Carrie Afrin.
A couple of able volunteers did some face-painting while teas and coffee were much appreciated by all participants.
Information was available regarding Gaelic Medium education as well as local Gaelic groups e.g. Football, Karate, and a Comhradh group.
Anyone who was unable to attend but would like to find out more about Gaelic Medium education opportunities in Tain and elsewhere in the Highlands can do so by e-mailing dolina.grant@highland.gov.uk
