Decision made on North West Skye community school
The Highland Council acknowledges receipt of the judgement of Sheriff James Tierney in the case of Highland Council against the School Closure Review Panel, which has been received today (22 February).
The Sheriff confirms the decision of the School Closure Review Panel, to refuse consent to a new community school in North West Skye at Dunvegan, to replace the current schools at Dunvegan, Edinbane, Knockbreck and Struan.
Councillor Drew Millar, Chair of the Education, Children & Adult Services Committee said: "The Council is disappointed at this decision. We have not yet had time to fully consider the written judgement, and will reflect further on these matters, once we have had an opportunity to do so. The Council remains committed to providing the highest quality of education to the children of North West Skye".
