April walks with Highland Council Countryside Rangers

Get those legs warmed up for the summer on a couple of guided walks with The Highland Council rangers taking in scenery and wildlife around Contin in Ross-shire and the River Findhorn by Nairn.

On Sunday 24th of April, John Orr will be leading explorers on his ‘Finding the Findhorn’ walk. This remote walk sets off at 2pm. It will take you towards the higher reaches of the River Findhorn and to an old abandoned settlement. There will be spectacular views and hopefully lots of wildlife. To book your place, please contact John on 01463 255291 and details of where to meet up will be given.

Further north, on Wednesday 27th April Martin Hind will be leading his final event as a Highland Council Ranger at Contin with his walk ‘Contin Views and Loch Cran’. Come and wish Martin well and meet the new ranger for the area, Jenny Grant and hopefully encounter some woodland wildlife too, including crossbills. Meet at the Forestry Commission car park in on the north road out of Contin (NH 453568) at 11am .

For both of these walks the price for adults is £4.50, concessions £3.50 and for families £15.00.
